Hospital in Västra Götaland, Sweden
The NU Hospital Group consists mainly of two hospitals in Sweden; Norra Älvsborgs Länssjukhus in Trollhättan and Uddevalla Sjukhus in Uddevalla. NU Hospital Group also includes three smaller local hospitals in Lysekil, Strömstad and Dalsland.[1] It serves , residents of Dalsland, northern Bohuslän and the towns of Trollhättan, Uddevalla and Vänersborg.[1] In , NU Hospital Group treated , outpatients over the course of , hospital visits, and 27, inpatients over the course of 39, visits.[1] The NU Hospital Group is part of the Västra Götaland Regional Council.

Wellness and sports facility
Arena Älvhögsborg lies in Trollhättan, one hour’s drive from Gothenburg, and is one of Sweden’s largest swimming, sports and wellness centres. As well as the pools, gym, sports halls and bowling alley, it is also an excellent venue for large music and sports events, congresses and courses.
If you are keen on training there is a wide range of programmes including gym, group training, crossfit, personal coach, various health services and courses. When it’s time to relax, check in at the wellness area with its jacuzzi, steam bath, massage, solarium and floating.
Companies and groups can book one of the sports halls for soccer, hockey, basketball, volleyball and badminton, to give some examples.
Fitness swimming, water slides and outdoor pools
At Arena Älvhögsborg you can swim laps, throw yourself down the water slide and bask in a degree hot bath. There is a pool for small children to splash in and the sauna is next to the changing rooms.
The outdoor section opens in the summer with pools for everyone including a metre pool, a training pool and child

Älvsborgs län är ett avvecklat län i Sverige. Det bildades och uppgick den 1 januari i Västra Götalands län.[1]Residensstaden var Vänersborg och dess största ort var Borås.[2]
Länet bestod av västra delen Västergötland, förutom delen i och närmast Göteborg, samt hela landskapet Dalsland. Länsbokstav var P. Länet motsvarade Älvsborgs läns landsting.
Historik

År delades ståthållardömet Västergötland i Skaraborgs och Älvsborgs län, i samband med länens tillkomst. Älvsborgs län blev en gräns- och försvarsbarriär mot Danmark-Norge.[1] Länet fick sitt namn efter borgenÄlvsborg vid Göta älvs mynning, intill dess första residensstad Göteborg.
År blev Borås tillfälligt residensstad, då Göteborg blev en del av det nya Bohus län. Efter stadsbranden i Borås år residerade landshövdingen tillfälligt dels på Fänneslunda säteri i Ås härad, nuvarande Ulricehamns kommun, dels på Alvhems kungsgård i Ale härad, nuvarande Lilla Edets kommun.
Från , då ett nytt residens stod klart, var Vänersborg dess residensstad.
